Do you have smile imperfections you would like to cover? Do you ever wonder what options you should consider? While there are a number of options you should think about, please don’t forget to consider the benefits of dental veneers. Dental veneers can be used to enhance the appearance of your teeth.
For instance, you probably know that veneers can be used to close cracks, to whiten your teeth, or to correct oddly shaped teeth. Similarly, veneers are stain resistant and durable—but there are still things you can consider doing to extend the life of your veneers. In fact, if you care for your veneers well, they could last for up to 15 years.
As you’ve probably guessed, you should brush and floss every day. However, please remember to brush for two minutes at a time twice a day. You should also consider using a non-abrasive toothpaste, and you may even want to consider using a toothpaste designed for individuals with sensitive teeth to protect those pearly whites.
It’s also important that you remember to not misuse your teeth. In other words, please don’t bite down on ice, metal, your nails, pens, etc. Chewing on these items could chip your teeth—or crack your veneers. If this happens to you, you’ll need to have your old veneers removed and have new veneers placed.
And finally, you will want to remember to limit your consumption of certain drinks, such as alcohol and soda, as they can harm your veneers over time. You’ll also need to visit our dentist once every six months to make sure your veneers are in tip-top shape.
